Looking for faster interval recognition? Â Check out Space Place!
For 2-4 players
Along with the ability to read note names, a student must also be able to understand intervals (the distance between notes). This skill enables them not only to play more easily, but also to grasp the basics of chord construction and harmonization. In addition, the ability to sight read and sight sing is greatly enhanced.
There are no clef signs in this game, so students determine intervals by their placement on the staff and not by note naming. Intervals appear in melodic and harmonic form. The Space Place game is easily used in conjunction with the instruction of the solfege system. Each level is played with the same rules so that the transition from one level to another is easy. Explore the solar system while learning to recognize intervals at a glance. Compete to obtain pairs of intervals. This will enable you to advance to the next planet, and ultimately to the Space Place for the win!
