Yamaha YBS82S Custom Baritone Saxophone

The first baritone saxophone in the Yamaha custom lineup introduces new standards of baritone sax design backed by years of research and development. The YBS-82 responds to the needs of players who are serious about tone, adding mid and high range brilliance to the instrument’s fat baritone low end.

Much more than just a low-part instrument, the YBS-82 has the versatility to take on solo roles as well.

YBS82 Neck: Newly designed custom C1 neck is included. It has a good response in producing sound, which enables the player to control the sound without losing the "core" of the sound.

YBS82 Neck receiver: Custom neck receiver allows you to choose between 3 taper options (C,E,V) and six finish options to help you find your ideal sound.

Ergonomic Key Layout (YBS82/62/480): A new key layout is featured on new YBS82/62/480 that prioritizes ergonomics. It can be played comfortably despite its larger size, resulting in outstanding playability.

Integrated key posts: This style of key posts adds a moderate resistance and makes the instrument sound as you blow into it.

Adjustable tear drop front F key: The unique tear-drop shaped F key improves playability. It is adjustable to players' preferences.

Mother of pearl key button: Mother of pearl is used as key buttons. It improves playability by making it easier to hold with soft but not slippery surface.

Seesaw key: The left-handed seesaw key has been designed to increase playability as well as provide a more comfortable feel.

Two-point Contact: Two-point contact is adopted for enhanced projection and free-blowing response.

One-piece bell: Craftsmen shape the bell from a sheet of brass with a hammer. This adds a unity to the body and makes the intonation in middle to lower range smoother. It also has a solid tone.

YBS82: The custom YBS82 features a 'anemone' engraving design which is hand engraved on every instrument. Custom logo is the proof of craftsmanship.

Bell-ring: Bell rings supports the instrument to vibrate well when players blow into it.

Separate style key guard: The separate key guards feature adjustable screw cap stoppers for professional-style technical adjustments.

Improved low B-C# connection: An improved mechanism from low B-C# connection ensures the consistent closing of the low C# key and promotes a clear response from notes in the low range of the instrument.

Newly designed peg and peg post: A peg and peg post are newly designed. The light weighed peg and peg post reduce the influence on the sound when the peg is equipped. *Peg is included in YBS82 and optional for YBS480 and YBS62.

Case: A new hard case with wheels helps move the instrument safely and easily..
