Sabian 23" Billy Cobham LE Spectral Ride Cymbal 12312BCLE
The 23" HH Billy Cobham Limited Edition Spectral Ride is a powerful medium heavy hand hammered ride with a low profile and large diameter.
The 23" HH Billy Cobham Limited Edition Spectral Ride is a powerful medium heavy hand hammered ride with a low profile and large diameter. It has a dark overall tone with a controlled shimmer and wash. The weight allows for a clear sweet stick definition and the large hand hammered bell makes for a clear and present bell strike. While being medium heavy in weight, the edges have been lathed thinner to allow for a nice wash and crashability. The Spectral Ride can work in many genres and styles much like the player it was crafted for.
The 23" HH Billy Cobham Spectral Ride is a medium-heavy ride featuring a low profile, clear stick definition, and a beautiful spread and wash that does not overtake the cymbal. With a full lathed, top and bottom, this instrument features a large, loud, and present bell, which when struck, harkens back to Cobham's signature sound, which can be heard across albums like his landmark 1973 release, Spectrum.
Fittingly, the Spectral Ride is equally at home in jazz, fusion, funk, and progressive music as it is in rock, metal, and standard pop music applications. The cymbal reference Cobham's affinity for both the 22" HH Medium Ride and 22" HH Rock Ride. Using those models as a foundation, SABIAN's Research and Development team amplified a set of prototypes to fit new 23" design, adding more presence, stick attack and controlled spread, while working closely with Cobham on crafting an instrument without limitations.
