MBA Jazz 101 Workshop
MBA (Manitoba Band Association) Jazz 101 Workshop is designed to give teachers basic strategies for teaching jazz. The full day workshop will be hosted at St. John’s Music on Friday, February 1st, 2019. The focus will be on the rhythm section, and jazz improvisation. The MBA is thrilled this year to have presenters Brady Gill and Dan Steinhilber presenting highly practical approaches to teaching improvisation, strategies you can employ Monday morning. Eric Platz, jazz drummer and first-rate music educator from Brandon University will be helping with rhythm section fundamentals. The cost is $50 for teachers and $10 for university students.
