Five Back To School Items All Wind Instrument Band Students Need

1. Music Stand - Some where in the history of everything, musicians discovered that 'practice makes perfect.'  A good music stand for at home practicing is essential for organizing music and practicing with proper posture.

2. Tuner/Metronome - Good tuning and good timing will cover up any bad habits.  A tuner-metronome combination is portable and easy to use, so there are no excuses.  

3. Care/Maintenance Kits - Do you hate mold? Most people do.  Clean your instrument after every use to ensure gross things don't happen.  An instrument cleaning kit comes with all the supplies to maintain your instrument. 

4. Pencils - Have you ever seen a band room after the students have left.  Pencils everywhere!  A good supply of pencils not only helps you in band class but other classes as well.

5. An Instrument - This might be the most important - grab a pencil (see above) and takes some notes. 

Having an instrument is good but having an instrument that works is even better. 

If your instrument is old and doesn't work right, it may need repairs.
