About Amplifiers
Designed to amplify the electrical signal of an electric guitar, bass guitar, or acoustic guitar. Most guitar amplifiers can also modify the instrument’s tone by emphasizing or de-emphasizing certain frequencies and adding electronic effects, typically distortion and reverb. The input of modern guitar amplifiers is a 1/4″ jack.
A 1/4″ cable is needed to hook up the amp with the guitar. Various types of amplifiers are available. The tube amplifer is commonly used in live performances and has been very common with guitar players throughout the years. A solid state amps are much cheaper to produce and more reliable and usually lighter than a tube amp. Hybrid amplifiers are combination of solid state and tube. Gaining in popularity is modeling amps where you can have built in digital effects to create numerous different sounds.
