YFL677HCT Yamaha Professional Flute
Inheriting the many merits of top-of-the-line Yamaha handmade flutes, these models offer rich, nuanced tonality over a wide dynamic range. The 500 and 600 series combine the brightness of nickel silver with the characteristic mellow timbres of sterling silver, while the 700 series delivers warmth and expressive color that only the finest silver flutes can provide. All models come with Type Am head joints based on the Type A head joints supplied with handmade flutes 900 and 800 series. The keys feature traditional pointed key arms, reflecting the highest level of craftsmanship and adding visual elegance to these outstanding instruments.
Head joint Type Am:Â Based on the Handmade Flute's Type A design, which offers a wider expressive range, the Type Am head joint additionally offers easier response and excellent balance over the instrument's entire range, and slightly heavier resistance.
Straubinger Phoenix Pads:Â Straubinger Phoenix Pads offer the same concept as Straubinger Pads on Yamaha's Handmade Flute, and have more suitable design for 700/600 models. The pads offer softer touch, but also superior response, wide dynamic rand and tolerance of environmental changes same as Straubinger Pads.
Heavy Wall Thickness:Â The thickness of the wall has been increased from 0.38 mm to 0.43 mm to improve balance for use with the new Type Am headjoint and the 12 Straubinger Phoenix Pads.
Sound Annealing:Â The thickness of the wall has been increased from 0.38 mm to 0.43 mm to improve balance for use with the new Type Am head joint response.
Key Design:Â The keys are hand-assembled and meticulously balanced for a perfect touch. And the key shapes have been so exquisitely designed and ergonomically placed that the flute will almost 'disappear' in your hands. Performances will feel effortlessly natural.
Pointed Key Arms:Â A#, F#, and other non-fingered keys feature pointed key arms. Found on handmade flutes, their beautiful designs are inspired by traditional European styling.
Keys:Â All key shapes and placement have been ergonomically designed for a comfortable, natural-felling performance. Manufacturing processes have been redesigned from the ground up to achieve substantially improved precision that not only leads to greater mechanical accuracy, but also minimizes the need for readjustment over time.
Toneholes- Drawn and Curled:Â Walls are drawn upward from the body material, giving the flute a broad, light sound.
Key Types:Â Covered (or Plateau) keys are easy to use. The pad cup is covered so it will seal the tonehole any time the key is closed. This is common with beginners of others who may not always press the center of the key.
Many advanced players prefer the open feel of Ring keys for subtle control of their tone. Intermediate and Standard model French system flutes come with key plugs to seal the hole until the players have become adept at covering the holes with their fingers.
Key Systems:Â Many players find the Offset G configuration easier to play. Often teachers recommend that beginners start on these flutes, while more advanced players are also choosing this natural feeling configurations. Many advanced students and professionals, though, still prefer the traditional In-line formation where all the toneholes are in a straight row.
Footjoints:Â The B footjoint has an extra key enabling the player to play 1/2 step lower than the lowest note of the C foot. It also effects the sound; B footjoint enables a darker, stronger sound with good projection, while C footjoint has flexible, warmer tone.
